While optimizing a site I work on I found that my CSS files were getting huge, bloated, and just plain crazy. I decided to search google and found this great site that offers to automatically optimize your css code.
http://flumpcakes.co.uk/css/optimiser/
Just copy and paste your CSS file into there form and hit submit. After the site has done the optimizations you can simply copy and paste the results over your current css. Dont forget to make a backup just in case!!!
I found that after using this tool Browsers were able to download and parse the css file much faster. Although FireFox 3 speed was pretty much the same ( already super fast ), this technique is great on Internet Explorer which is slow and clunky.
